Seattle is one of the most family-friendly and accommodating cities in the United States, with ventures that are simply just pure fun. Not only that, but there are activities and adventures that span the widest of age groups and interests. There are walking and hiking trails right in the city that families can enjoy. You can also rent bikes and strollers at some of the parks, walk onto one of the ferries for a restful sojourn around Puget Sound, go fishing from one of the piers, gawk at the houseboats that were featured in the "Sleepless in Seattle" movie, and visit some hands-on museums.
If you are planning on visiting Seattle for a day or two along with your kids, try chartering a private yacht in Seattle. The professional crew on board your yacht will help you and your kids enjoy water sports activities and explore tourist attractions located in the Emerald city. After you've returned from your stay, you will surely admire this Northwestern city for its unique perspective and delicate ecosystems. Even your kids will have enthralling tales in store to share with their peers.
DAY ONE
Start the day by treating your taste buds with scrumptious breakfast. Thereafter get down from your charter and make your way to the Space Needle – the first stop for the day. Get to the "O" (for Observation) Deck takes exactly 41 seconds and brings you 520 feet above the ground. Kids can enjoy taking in the mesmerizing 360-degree views of the Emerald City from the telescopes.
From there, go to the Pacific Science Center, also known as Seattle Center, for a visit to its five buildings with extraordinary hands-on exhibits for all ages. The buildings also boast a butterfly house and two IMAX theaters. Kids can have a fun time enjoying the exhibits or shows being played while at the theaters. Later you can sit down for a traditional lunch in any famous restaurant in the proximity.
After lunch, make your way back to your yacht charter for a whale watching escapade. The Puget Sound waters outside of the Ballard Locks provides one of the best whale watching opportunities across the world, offering calm waters and a huge variety of wildlife which includes three pods of resident Orca whales. You can also spot humpback, minke, and grey whales that frequent the waters.
See if your kids are having a gala time on the deck or are getting tired. If tired, head back to your private luxurious room for some downtime. Try not to rest for too long as you do not want to miss those views of the sunset. The sight of flocking birds and amazing fish as the sun melts into the ocean will leave the kids stunned & mesmerized.
DAY TWO
If it's a nice day out, ask your crew to give you some kites and head over to Gas Works Park, in the Wallingford District at the north end of Lake Union. The park was created out of old gas works and the original equipment has been brightly painted and turned into climbing objects. The knoll looks out over the city and is the perfect place to send a kite soaring.
When you've flown your kite, find your way to Pike Place, a riot of color and activity, food and trinkets. Maybe one of your kids is interested in catching a salmon at the Pike Place fish market -- and by catching, we're not talking hook and line.
Walk through the market to waterfront street, to reach the Seattle Aquarium, where you and the kids can get a full picture of Northwest sea life and the region's ecosystem. It's smaller than many aquariums but incredibly well stocked and equipped, including a walk-through tank where the sea creatures surround you.
Make your way back to yacht charter for a fishing escapade. Good fishing opportunities abound the saltwater fringes and the lakes of Seattle at nearly any time of year. King Salmon and Coho Salmon are the most often targeted sports fish in Puget Sound. It's time to make the kids ready for a bright future in angling ahead.
In less than two days, you can explore most of the Seattle tourist destinations and what they have in store to offer its travelers. The best way to end your trip is with a rewarding dinner prepared by a skilled and professional chef on board your private yacht charter in Seattle. When your scrumptious dinner is complete, head back to the room, start packing and take a peaceful sleep before you board the flight the next day for your onward journey back to the hustle and bustle.
